Anime review: Ghost Hunt.
Today’s anime review is one you can see on Youtube. Youtube is a pretty good place to check out anime. The only problems are finding the anime and copyright infringement. Of course, those are problems with a lot of Youtube’s content. Because of that, things tend to disappear when the copyright holder requests that the offending videos be removed. That’s an article for another time. Now, our review of Ghost Hunt.
Ghost Hunt follows the investigations of Shibuya Psychic Research. The first episode deals with the school Mai Taniyama attends. Mai is caught telling ghost stories with her friends in the school. This is where she meets Kazuya Shibuya for the first time. The next day as she’s walking past the old abandoned school building she sees a camera set up inside. Checking it out, she causes an accident that injures Kazuya’s assistant Lin and damages the camera. To payback Kazuya for the camera, she works as his assistant in Lin’s place.
The schools principal doesn’t put all his eggs in one basket though. Shibuya Psychic Research isn’t alone in investigating the old school building. Others begin to turn up.
I won’t go into detail about the story, the show is on Youtube so you can check it out for yourself. I would recommend it. It does a good job of keeping you in suspense. The art is well suited to the kind of stories the anime deals with. The show is also pretty creepy, which is a good thing. There’s some humor to lighten the mood from time to time and it’s also well done.
So if you’re a fan of ghost stories, check out Ghost Hunt. It’s a great anime that takes a look at supernatural phenomenon from several point of view.
