Upcoming manga wish list.

by

I was looking for new manga in Seven Seas Entertainment’s and TokyoPop’s upcoming release pages. I found a few I definitely want to read and a few more I’m unsure about. I’ll just skip the ones that look really crappy. I’m just listing upcoming first volumes. Since I’m just getting started on this blog, I’ll get started on some new manga. I’ve linked to all of ‘em so you can check ‘em out too.

Manga Shopping List

***** Seven Seas Entertainment *****

    June 2007
    July 2007
  • Hollow Fields
Some similarity to Girl Genius. Looks kinda cutesy to start with, but once she gets to the school, it gets better. Check out the preview.
    October 2007
  • Dead Already
Waaay far ahead, but it looks so good, I’m kinda already looking forward to it. I’d like to buy it now. The preview looks great.
    June 2007 Releases
  • Brave Story
Hmmm… Going to find a goddess in a magical world to change his fate? Dunno about this one. It could go eaither way.
    July 2007 Releases
  • Avalon High: Coronation
King Arthur goes to high school… kinda. I like the Arthurian legends, might check it out.
  • Battle of the Bands
Looks like a cute/funny harem story. Bands fighting it out. Musical mayhem! Might have to pick this one up.
  • Kingdom Hearts II
I’m a sucker for Kingdom Hearts, the games anyway. Could the manga live up to that level of quality? I have no idea. I’m almost afraid to check it out. I love KH and I wouldn’t want a crappy tie-in to taint it. Undecided.
  • Me & My Brothers
Looks like the exact opposite of Happy Lesson. I liked the Happy Lesson anime. I guess it could work. Undecided.
  • War Angels
Maybe it’s all the bad sci-fi I’ve seen, but I’m wary of anything that has a description staring “It’s the year 2504″. Then again, there’s stuff like Shadowrun, which is awesome in almost all it’s forms. Undecided.
    August 2007 Releases
  • Pick of the Litter
Orphan who finds his real family, and they’re magical. (Cue french horn) Undecided.
  • Stand By Youth
College entrance exams, Porn and “beautiful but mysterious Sora”. Three things I like in manga. Undecided.
  • We Shadows
Duuuuuude, the mushrooms are talkin’ to me. They say I’m a “beautiful faerie princess in training”. Sounds weird, I might have to pick it up. Undecided.

Looks like I’ll be picking up a few of these. If I had more money there’d be a lot less in the undecided category. That’s just the nature of the fandom I suppose.

If you know of anymore new manga starting up let me know.
