My Favorite Character would have to be Winry Rockbell For she is a Girl that likes Mechanics and is not afraid to express her feelings
Plus I always enjoy when she goes ballistic hitting Edward with her wrench.

Well. I hate anime. Of all sorts, really. But my son loves it. But I ignore it while it’s on, and him while he talks about it.
So I’d LIKE to enter because those would be a ROCKIN’ Christmas gift, but alas, I can’t tell you anything about it. Other then the fact that I hate it, but love my son enough to try and enter on his behalf.
Please don’t boo me off the stage. And give me stuff. Points for honesty, maybe? (grin)

Lessa,
I don’t mind if you enter for your kids. If you try to find out what they like about the show you’ll have a better chance of winning.

Well, I am a huge FMA fan and have even dubbed myself ‘The Dairy Alchemist’ despite my love for Ed. I’m a Risembool Ranger who has met Vic Mignogna, and I am incredibly happy that I got to because he simply is an amazing person.
I think that Ed is an amazing character because of his protective, often misjudging nature, and also his tendency to spazz on those who are short. Even though I haven’t seen Conqueror of Shambala (I can’t find it anywhere and my computer won’t load it) I really look forward to doing so, and winning would be awesome!!-hinthint-
xD
So, yeah. Like I said, FMA Rocks, and so does Vic!

I love FMA! At first, when I hadn’t seen the anime, I thought, what’s so good about it!? But then I started watching it, and I soon found that answer out for myself. It has such a good plot and an amazing storyline that just kept me addicted. I watched it all the way through in Japanese, then I’m watching them in English. It’s just a series that’s hard to put down!
My favorite character is probably Edward. He’s stubborn, but very determined to get his brother’s body back. He’s willing to risk his life, even to become a dog of the military! He’s just such a strong character that does have his faults at some points. He can be foolish and brash, but that’s because of the situations he’s been forced in. How else to respond to those situations? …I love the English voice of Edward, and I soon became a Risembool Ranger. It’s been very fun for me. Vic Mignoga has an awesome voice! I’ve heard his songs off his myspace and I’m going: Amaaaaazingggg!
I’d also like to say that my favorite episode is the House of the Waiting Family, episode 17. Winry Rockbell, to me, is also another strong willed character. She’s waited two years for Edward to return and she has to just wait all is time for him!! I’d go ballistic if someone left as quickly as Edward did, but Winry didn’t. That’s why I also admire her.
FMA is my favorite anime show… it’s just too awesome to not watch!

Oops, I don’t think I finished what I said about Winry. Winry may have shed tears while Edward was there, but she wasn’t afraid to speak her feelings to him. She’s a character that’s hard to dislike!

I couldn’t tell you what my favorite episode is, because I love the whole story. It’s one of life and what you’re willing to give up for it. At least, that’s what it is to me, in a sense.
I think my favorite character would have to be Meas Hughes. He held so much love for his family and friends, and brought much needed humor to a tense atmosphere. He was very smart and serious when he needed to be. Hughes was a great character. I really missed him after he died (I don’t mean to sound like I’m giving his eulogy! xD).

Oooh . . . you gave me a toughie. :3 Fullmetal Alchemist has been my favorite anime ever since I started watching anime to begin with. It’s heartbreaking, funny, actiony (that’s not a word), all sorts of stuff.
My favorite character, though it’s a bandwagon, would have to be Edward Elric.
He’s a great person, really. He’s caring and considerate for those he cares about, and the brotherly love he and Alphonse share is a rare kind of thing. He willingly risked his life time and time again, not for himself, but for Al, in a quest to return his younger brother to his normal body.
Then, he’s still tough enough to pull through everything he’s done. All the stuff he’s been put through doesn’t deserve to go on a fifteen-year-old’s shoulders, yet he always manages to buck up and pull through for the sake of his little brother. I’ve always wished I could be just a fraction as tough and caring as he is.
Plus . . . oh, come on. He’s pretty cute. *whistles innocently*

Well FullMetal Alchemist is a great anime. It’s one that really makes you think and feel and cry. I’m just an overall huge fan of the show, movie and voice actors involved. The progression on how Ed and Al are forced to grow up too fast and have to deal with death and danger tugs at my heartstrings. It was especially hard watching the brothers learn of their own insignificance in the world. It’s almost easy to forget that they are only little boys who are in the condition that they are in because they loved their mother enough to risk it all. Alphonse is my favorite character because he is one of the things that keep Edward innocent. As Ed was being hardened by military life, Al was there to remind him what they were after. And Al, although younger, is usually the voice of reason and he is the one thing that Ed loves the most. Al is the purest, most kind-hearted character who stands out among the rest of the cast whose majority represent evil, selfishness and corruption.

My favorite character would defiantly be Alphonse! We both have many things in common. To name a couple, we are both shy and we adore kittens! (:
My favorite episode would be the one where Havoc meets Armstrong’s sister! That one is absolutely hilarious!

Fullmetal Alchemist… Oh my, where to even begin about how amazingly well directed it is! It’s got everything an awesome anime needs!
I first started watching it about… A year or so ago. I made through all the episodes in a span of a week. (This was before youtube crapped out and took down all the anime) Anyway, to START explaing how awesome this anime is… My sister is NOT an anime fan, at all, but… She one day watched an episode with me, and she began to get more interested in it. =3 So, THAT’S how good of an anime it is. When it can entice a non-anime fan!
In any case… My favorite character would have to be Maes Hughes. He’s just… The comic relief of the grim storyline! He’s basically the only one who didn’t sin, or do anything to be worth being killed! Alas… He did. I’ve never seen an anime that would sacrifice a truly loveable character like that.
Which brings me to my next point! My favorite episode is episode 25. I can’t recall the name of it, but it’s the one where Hughes dies.
Man, I actually cried on that! It was so unexpected at the time, and I was not ready for it! The part that really got to me was where Elysia starts getting confused as to why they’re burying her father. That would have to be the saddest episode of FMA.

Definately have to say I totally dig Al. He may be younger than Ed, but keeps him in check in every fashion. Not to mention, he’s got some pretty smart-alec one-liners in his own innocent fashion.
September 13th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
My favorite FMA character is definetely Roy Mustang! Sure, he can be quite a meanie to Edward and Al, but he has to doesn’t he?
I absolutely love how sarcastic he can be and how serious he is as well. The storyline of how he killed the Rockbell’s and how he can’t seem to live with that decision gives his character real depth.
Plus he kind of keeps Edward in check, which would be a hard job in and of itself!
September 13th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
My favorite episode is The Stray Dog. The key moment in this episode that makes it my favorite is when Mustang catches the brothers and tells them that he wasn’t chasing after them because of orders, but because he was pissed that they didn’t turn to him for help. I think this shows just how much Roy actually cares for Ed and Al. I felt it confirmed my belief that Ed and Roy get on each other’s nerves because the care about each other (…not in a yaoi way, at least not for me ^_^)
I don’t have a favorite character, they all are great in different ways.
Anyway, good luck to everyone who enters this contest!!!

Maes Hughes is my favorite character in FMA, without a doubt.
I have this weird thing where I can fall totally head over heels for a fictional character, and with Hughes, that whole process took less then 5 minutes. There is something about his nature that intrigues me. One moment he’s a goofball, then the next he is this very serious and deadly character. He’s smart, funny, loyal to fault and he cares deeply for the people around him, not only his wife and daughter, but Roy, Ed and Al. He’s steady, he’s the rock for all of them.
“Words of Farewell” is, at the same time, one of my favorite episodes and the one that I can’t seem to make myself watch. Everything Maes is and was and ever could be is summarised so beautifully and it just wrecks me emotionally. The scene of Roy in the graveyard is one of the most moving and emotional things I have ever seen on television.
